In the early 1990s, against the backdrop of the Troubles, Erin Quinn and her friends Clare, Michelle, and Orla start a new school year. A major disruption occurs when Michelle's English cousin, James Maguire, is forced to join their all-girls' Catholic secondary school for his own safety.
