A Day in May (2025)

The film follows 10-year-old Joaquín, a quiet boy who observes the different expectations placed on men and women within his family. On the eve of Mother’s Day in 2000, his teenage sister runs away from home, upsetting the fragile balance of the household. Joaquín is left trying to understand the adults around him and his own place within the changing family structure. It is described as an intimate coming-of-age drama focused on family tension, gender roles, adolescence, and a child’s attempt to make sense of an unexpected crisis. I would avoid assigning a cast, director, or 2025 release date without a more specific source, since the search results did not establish those details confidently.
