A Tribe Called Love (2026)

A Tribe Called Love (2026) is a Canadian romantic drama directed by Mohamed Ahmed, set in Toronto’s Somali community. It follows Farah and Halima, two teenagers who fall in love despite warnings that they must not cross tribal lines. When a neighbourhood tragedy forces Farah’s family to move to Vancouver, the young couple is separated. Fourteen years later, Farah returns to Toronto to sell his family’s failing restaurant and reconnects with Halima. Their romance reignites, but the same tribal divisions, family expectations, and community conflicts resurface, threatening to repeat the past. The film is framed as a modern Somali-Canadian Romeo and Juliet, exploring whether cultural barriers can be broken.
