Matchbox the Movie (2026)

Matchbox: The Movie (2026) is an American action comedy inspired by Mattel’s Matchbox die-cast toy-car brand. Directed by Sam Hargrave and written by David Coggeshall, it stars John Cena as Sean Walker, an undercover CIA agent who returns to his small hometown after years away and reunites with his childhood friends. Sean’s reunion with Aimee, Crosby, Ted, and Charmaine quickly turns dangerous when he is drugged and kidnapped by people searching for a missing nuclear warhead. The CIA believes Sean and his friends stole the weapon, so the group sets out to recover it themselves and clear their names. Their mission becomes a globe-trotting chase involving covert operations, high-speed car chases, and an international conspiracy.
