One Foot in the Grave (1990 TV Series)

One Foot in the Grave is a British black-comedy sitcom following Victor Meldrew, a curmudgeonly early retiree whose life is a nonstop series of misfortunes, misunderstandings, and absurdities. Alongside his long-suffering wife Margaret and their eccentric neighbors, Victor rails against the world’s small injustices from voicemail to clingfilm—while bizarre events spiral out of control. Across six series, the show blends farce with tragedy, using Victor’s catchphrase “I don’t believe it!” to frame a story of frustration, resilience, and the absurdity of modern life.
