Although Apple TV+’s Slow Horses continues to dominate as one of the most acclaimed espionage dramas on television, the franchise is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Inspired by British author Mick Herron’s celebrated Slough House book series, the show follows a misfit group of rejected MI5 agents led by the brilliantly cantankerous Jackson Lamb (Sir Gary Oldman). Since debuting in 2022, the series has grown into a major award-winning hit, earning critical acclaim, multiple Primetime Emmys, and a loyal global fanbase.
With fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter, Apple TV+ has officially confirmed the release date for Slow Horses Season 6. The upcoming six-episode season is set to premiere globally on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, with new episodes dropping weekly through October 21.
The streamer also revealed exciting details about what’s ahead for the Slough House crew. Season 6 will adapt two of Herron’s novels, Joe Country and Slough House, combining them into a high-stakes narrative. The plot finds the "Slow Horses" on the run after MI5 First Desk Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas) embroils them in a deadly game of retaliation and revenge, leaving the agents erased from MI5's systems and literally fighting for survival as they are hunted down.
Adding even more momentum to the franchise's long-term future, Slow Horses has already been officially renewed for Season 7, ensuring that Gary Oldman's iconic, rumpled spy master will be gracing screens for a long time to come.
