Presented as a strange television documentary, V/H/S/85 uncovers a collection of disturbing videotapes from the 1980s. The footage includes scientists studying a mysterious shape-shifting creature, friends encountering an unnatural threat at an isolated lake, and a television crew trapped after a devastating earthquake. Other recordings follow a performance artist who challenges a supernatural force through virtual reality, a murderous family protecting a dark ritual, and a detective investigating videotapes that predict future killings. Together, the segments create a grim anthology of analogue horror, violence, and supernatural terror.
